have just come by a unfired tk2000, it uses the red primer plastic. now with it UNLOADED and the knob screwed forward it does not cover the red band and with primary trigger lock saftey off it will pop the cap (209). not good is their a fix? also will the breech plug that does not use the red primer holder but still uses a 209 work on this gun? my breech plug uses a 1/2 socket for removal. I have used bp rifles and smoothys over 40yrs. cap and flint. presently building a 37" 20ga.flinter full stock. thanks for any help with this 12ga. smokey 12

Sounds like the threads on the plunger could be gauld up or stripped. Could you post a picture?

When you cock the hammer assembly, the secondary safety will not screw in far enough???

correct with knob screwed all the way forward it does not cover the red stripe on the hammer and will pop the 209.

Ok, i just wanted to make sure the plunger was cocked. It would be hard to screw the safety in far enough if the plunger was NOT cocked. It sounds like the threads are boogered or something is in the threads.

I would contact Knight for a new plunger assembly or repair.
