MOUNTAINEER BREECH PLUG - CCI 209M PRIMERS

I have a green syn-stocked Mountaineer and absolutely love it. It has the bare 209 primer feature and I like that as well, NOW.
When I started shooting this rifle I was using W209 primers and they would just fall out after each shot when I rolled the rifle over, well I tried CCI 209 M as so many on the MZ forums were raving about the performance using them with BH209. Well guess what, they stuck after almost every shot and, being hard-headed, I tried all kinds of silly things to fix it.

NOW HEAR THIS!!!
If you want to use CCI209M primers in a bare primer ignition Knight it is so simple.
After each shot, just recock the bolt and dry fire it, the CCI209M will fall out just like the W209. All that is happening is this, the Knight primer pockets are all designed for the size of the W209 primer and the CCI209M, I guess due to an increase in pressure, forms a bump on the used primer, dry firing pushes the bump back down and the problem is fixed...

I find this load to be super in the Mountaineer: 100 hrs by volume of BH209 - W209 or CCI209M, no difference in POE in my rifle - 250 gr. Barnes Expander MZ - Yellow Super Glide Sabot. Using the TB MZ scope from Hi-Lux with a 100 yd zero using main cross hair - 200 yd zero is exactly the second cross hair. I can take a single target, set it at 100yd, fire 3 shots take it up move it to 200 yds and fire 3 shots - same group. NO JOKE...
Good hunting this season everyone...

Its a fairly common issue with any bolt gun that uses a primer carrier in the bolt nose. You may want to try a Fed209A. They are slightly longer than a CCI. They all do it in my Knights with the 209 bare primer conversion except the Win209. They are flawless in every respect. No need for mag primers with this breach plug and BH209.

I have the same problem with the CCI 209 primer. The way I get them to get unstuck is to dry fire onto the used primer and it will them fall out.

Its the head spacing on the primer to bolt head is off if your going to us cci 209m primers you have to take washer and shim the breech plug for the spacing to be wright. this will stop your primer from sticking I do this on my knights. or you can just us w209.
