Looks like the general forum got spammed again so

Dropping down here to try and get a answer. What is the best rate of twist for a sabot only shooter. I have several options on a custom barrel I plan to have made.

It depends on the length of the bullet and MV more than anything else. In a 50cal, a 1-28 is fine for the vast majority of bullets and typical MV. A 1-24 has the advantage when the bullets get longer and heavier than 300gr.

One in 28 it will be. Shooting the Barnes expander solid copper bullet in 451 dia and 250 grains by use of a black crush rib sabot and 90 grains of triple 7.
