trying my MK85 again

Ok guys I have shot a T/C Renegade .54 for years. Always used BP and Maxi-Balls. Bought my wife back in the late 80's an MK85 in 50 caliber. With the BP and sabots at the time I could never find a nice reproducible combo. So it has sat for years and I want to try it again in this years deer season. I'm leaning toward the bloodline sabots. My question is this, instead of using BP I was thinking of using pellets. Is this feasible in this rifle? I know nothing about these BP substitute pellets. Thanks for any and all help

pellets never shot good in my bk or my brother in laws mk ..we found that 777 powder shot best with 90 or 100 grain depending on the gun ..do you still have this mk85 ? im looking for one to purchase thats in good shape ...
