Introduction and Powder Question
Let me introduce my self, due to being new to the forum. I am GatorCamper from SW Florida, Bradenton area. I am new to the Muzzle Loading scene. Having a few pistols and rifles my true love is Single Action Blackhawks and now the Muzzle Loading Knight Mk85 rifle. I have gone full circle. Is this normal for us middle agers??? Also, I am a handloader, that is I enjoy reloading my spent rounds. I guess that's why I find the Muzzle loading so interesting. My question is, I understand smokless powders, types and burn rates, but help me get a grasp on the Muzzle Loading powders. I see there are three, maybe more, types of Muzzle loading powders. 1. Black Powder, 2. Pyrodex, and 3. FFG or Hodgdon Triple Seven. What are the differences?
