Properly cleaning barrel

I am a new member. I have an older Knight 54 caliber disk rifle. I waited too long to clean the barrel and there is some rust mixed in with the rifling that I have not been able to remove. Please advise the best way to remove this rust without damaging the rifling. Thanks

Get some JB and work the bore top to bottom for 30 rounds up and down is one and see what it looks like. if pitted it will only do so much .http://www.brownells.com/gun-cleaning-c ... d1161.aspx
us a tight patch on a cleaning jig. replace the patch every 20 rounds.

Yep, I'd try the JB Bore paste then alternate with Kroil oil.

You might try PB Blaster, purchase at any Lowes. Spray the barrel and let it set for about thirty min then take a tight patch and start working the barrel. I use a good solid copper brush on a rod attached to my drill to go up and down the barrel and alternate with the clean patch. Good Luck
