The 1-18 was a special bull barrel Target model and insanely rare.

The 1-20s pop up from time to time but sell fast.

You may find it easier to get a fast twist 45 by getting a 45/70 and having a breach plug installed. The KP1 in 45/70 would work but its not the most popular platform for the conversion. I converted my Savage 50cal to a 45 1-22 twist with a Pancor SM grade barrel. Both Pacnor and McGowen offer 1-22 barrels ready to go for the Savage and Rem 700MLs. Brux just made a special run of either 1-20 or 1-22 also for these conversions.

Slufoot on Dougs board does a great job of installing the Savage plugs in a variety of barrels. IIRC he has done a KP1 45/70 conversion. I think he charges about $120 plus the cost of the breach plug.

Anther guy on Dougs just took 1st in the Hunters Inline match at Friendship with a Knight Mountaineer he modified with a Douglas 458 1-22 barrel. http://dougsmessageboards.proboards.com ... ight-build

Slufoot just announced he will no longer do any work due to a change in jobs However there are several others on Doug's sight that due the same thing Cole of CMC Firearms, Rossman40, Richard to name a few and there are others I used col and Rosman40 you may want to contact Luke at Arrowhead sporting goods he can point you in the right direction. I have a brand new 45 Caliber Mountaineer 1-20 twist with forest camo th stock never fired I have been toying with selling it I bought it on a impulse and have too many muzzle loaders. Lou
