IMO, not with a MK85 or similar plunger gun. Musket cap...maybe... but im not in the habit of submerging mine under water either.

So is that what the 209 is for? Is it more for trying to repel water? Cause I drop mine in a 2 1/2 foot deep water hole :o to see if it would go off after watching the video that came with my gun when I got it and the guy dropped his in a river off his shoulder. The out come after I left it in the water for a min or two I reached in grab it dumped the water out of the barrel changed the cap and BOOM!!!!!!!! It went off :D

Sabots don't completely seal a bore, if they did you would need a hammer to load them. They expand to fill the bore when fired. Try removing the breach plug and load a sabot with bullet. Hold it upto the light. You will see daylight in the grooves. If that still isn't convincing, aim the muzzle up in the air and fill it up with water. Water will leak past the sabot.

FPJs are only effective to a point. They seal ONE end and if the muzzle is facing up all bets are off. ;)
