i have a knight disc 50 cal. what is max powder load?

150gr by volume of real black powder or an approved substitute. I almost never see a need to go over 120grV and accuracy usually goes down if you do.

Yes, & a 'reasonable' charge can depend on what weight & type of bullet you plan to shoot too. Some powder types have more energy than others, B209 vrs Shockeys Gold for instance. For the average 250 grn bullet/sabot combo I'd top it out at 120 grains, normally 110 or so is plenty for hunting.

120grs is what we usually do all of our testing with and it's also the amount that is listed on a lot of the bullet boxes. I usually stick with 110grs which has proven to be an even volume for me and I shoot anywhere from a 220gr bullet to a 375gr bullet. To much powder is just an overkill and a sore shoulder at the end of the day.

150 grains of any black powder would be the Max. I have found that the guns that I shoot work best at about 110 grains. I have a Master Hunter and a new Mountaineer. I like BH-209 as it burns cleaner.
