Re: Finally!!! Go to shoot the new ULite WE
What front sight setup do you have? I think I'm going to get that same sight for my Mountaineer--but not sure how to confirm the front sight combination that would work best. Here is the list of parts... Brownells NECG Peep http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/sights/rear-sights/peep-sight-prod9643...

Re: Finally!!! Go to shoot the new ULite WE
Which Peep is that and why did you choose it over the Williams FP, or other? It is a NECG peep designed to fit on Weaver style bases. The Williams FP will not fit on the Ulite because the stock is to thick. And I am not a fan of the WRGS although it would work very well. With the NECG, I can remove...

Re: Disc Exreme & BH209
What does the vent liner do? Does it give better ignition of the powder, like BH209? It is not just the vent liner... the new NFPJ breech plug is built to shoot BH, or any other, in that the flash channel is larger and allows the plug to breath better and in that it transfers the heat more efficien...

Re: Mountaineer - 209 Bare vs FPJ
That is good to know, but I'm still confused as to whether BH209+Bare 209 Primer vs. FPJ+777 would be a better choice? Sacrificing waterproofing for what--a cleaner gun? Is there any accuracy or reliability concern with regards to hunting? Is it worth $120 to get the Bare 209 version? Brian It woul...

Saturday Pre-Season Scouting
Well we made it out to check cameras this morning. We were really hoping we might even bump something making track and we were really close. No matter it was a great trip running around the mountain and getting some look sees. We believe we may have a found a very hot spot - hopefully with big bulls...

Western Knight Ultra-Lite sabotlessly
I know it is not a word, but it works better for me versus 'less-the-sabot'. Anyway the experiment continues... Anyway this morning I need to go shoot - I hate working it really interrupts my rec time. So even though it was to hot! really to hot to shoot - I went. According to my range finder when I...

Finally!!! Go to shoot the new ULite WE
And I really had a stroke of luck - should happen to me more often. This morning it was some what cooler than it has been in several days, so the plan was to go to the farm and get some shooting in. I waited very patiently till 9:00 hoping to give everyone at the farm time to get up and be moving ar...

Shooting - In Idaho Falls
Something I have never done before... Ross Gun and Coin was sponsoring a 'Range Day @ Skyline Gun Club'. This is an annual event in which Ross invites manufactures to bring their guns to the range and allow the general public to come in and shoot the different weapons on display. The only muzzleload...

Rock Pit Decision
Had another opportunity to get some shooting in today (High School Softball season is over), I took me awhile to figure out what rifle I was going to shoot, but in the end I decided on taking my reclaimed 45 Knight DISC Extreme to the shoot. This is a 1-30 twist DISC that I have been working with af...
