Re: .45, .50. or .52
I usually have enough supplies for years going forward. I take a little extra when I am away on a hunt, so I'm not searching the 'mom & pop' stores for supplies. I do think most should just start with a 50 to keep things easy. Nothing wrong with staying with the 50 either. I don't think there is re...

Re: .45, .50. or .52
My 45 cal Knight Elite gave a 2218 avg FPS with a 195 grn Barnes, 110 grains of B209 & a CCIM primer. My 50 cal gave a steady 1950 FPS with a 250 grn bullet & 120 grns of B209. I know, speed isn't everything, but it can help. One may have to plan ahead a bit more with the 45 cal M-L, not that hard ...

.45, .50. or .52
Which caliber do you use? .45, .50, or .52? (Please keep this to inlines only)
Why did you choose that caliber?
Is there a reason that you like that caliber over the other two?
Have you seen a terminal performance improvement by comparison in the caliber that you chose?

Re: Stuck Primers
Sorry I haven't updated everyone. The gun went back to Knight & has been there since last Wednesday. Gordy has been off since last Thursday so I'm just waiting to see what he finds out when he gets back.

Re: Favorite Mountaineer Load
I have mostly the older Knights. The load for my 50 cal is 120 grains of B209, a CCIM primer & a 250 grn SST. My 45 cal load is 110 grains of B209 same primer & a 200 grn SST. I do plan to use the 195 grn Barnes bullet this Fall in my 45 cal Elite. The SSTs & Shockwaves have always worked well for ...

Re: scope sight in
By experience you should be just a ad low at 100 yards. However.....NEVER ASSUME THAT A BULLET THAT IS ACCURATE AT 50 YARDS IS ACCURATE AT 100 YARDS!
I have seen bullets touch at 50 open up to 6 or 8 inches at 100 yards & be off that far to the left or right as well.
Go to the range & make sure!

Re: Stuck Primers
I don't think that will help as I am still getting a LOT of soot & carbon. I noticed yesterday that the primers stick worse if I raise the bolt & pull back on the ball of the bolt. If I grab the bolt right outside of the breech area it will release & slide back much easier which tells me that the bo...

Favorite Mountaineer Load
Just wondering what loads Mountaineer owners are using & what kind of accuracy you get?
